Manual QA Tester
camlCase is looking to hire a mid-level manual QA tester for our user-facing blockchain applications. This is primarily a manual testing role.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity based on our current and future needs. We’re looking for part-time contract to start (20–30 hours/week), for 3–6 months, at which time we hope to convert the role to a full-time salaried employee with full benefits.
Our products include a web-based cryptocurrency exchange, a mobile wallet for iOS and Android, and a stats tool. We also have companion websites for each product which are updated regularly. You’ll be required to have a complete and current mobile testing setup as well as the usual browsers for desktop testing.
You’ll use our QA management tool (similar to TestRail) to create test cases and track test runs. You’ll build on the existing test suites and help strengthen our test criteria, helping to think of and add new edge cases. Your test suites will be written clearly and using our naming conventions. You’ll report issues using our toolset, and will be responsive to team members’ questions.
You’ll be self-directed in writing tests, but will be expected to communicate regularly and effectively over messaging, videoconferencing and project management tools with our team members from Engineering, Product and UX. Your test cases and suites will be reviewed by Product.
We work in an exciting and rapidly-evolving ecosystem. You’ll need the patience to learn new concepts and terminology, and to be very diligent in ensuring that financial transactions always add up correctly, and are consistent across platforms.
You have 3–6 years’ experience in testing web and mobile applications.
You have experience using QA management tools and writing test suites and reports.
You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator.
You are able to attend 2–3 weekly meetings on a New York and EU time zone schedule.
Some experience with creating tests with automated testing tools will be helpful.
You have some experience with and interest in FinTech user-facing products.
You’re willing to learn new terminology specific to our ecosystem.
You have an eye for design issues, to support our best-in-class UX.
You’re a contractor who is interested in a future full-time role.
No agencies, please.
To apply, please send resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
